Doce Blant Publishing will be exhibiting their books, chatting with the public, and answering questions about the publishing process for small press houses. Our focus on providing a quality of excellence with all of our books intends to support the great work of the library programs everywhere.
The Conference Planning Committee has chosen a theme for WLA's 2017 Annual Conference in Tacoma: “Libraries Through the Looking-Glass.”
Tacoma has a vibrant glass arts community, including the Museum of Glass in walking distance from the Hotel Murano, which itself has an impressive glass art collection on display throughout the hotel and conference facility. Also within walking distance is the Chihuly Bridge of Glass and an Alice in Wonderland public art mural. The committee also gravitated towards the idea of libraries reflecting back upon themselves, a core purpose of the annual conference.
Pierce County Library System has generously offered the services of their graphics staff to work with the committee on a logo to illustrate the theme.
